Description

The Elta Clearflow CF is a roof-mounted, vertical discharge centrifugal fan designed for external building installation where space is limited. It features advanced backward curved impellers with three-dimensional profiled aerofoil blades, delivering air volume flow rates of up to 2.66 m³/s and static pressures up to 618 Pa while maintaining high efficiency and low acoustic emissions. The vertical discharge design directs exhaust air upwards and away from the building.

Built for versatile installation, the Clearflow CF can be mounted at angles of up to 30° directly onto pitched roofs, making it ideal for applications requiring angled positioning. A bird guard and wind guard are fitted as standard, and components are easily removable for maintenance. The unit uses a pre-galvanised sheet steel casing with a high-performance composite impeller and an AC external rotor motor (4-pole, available in single or three-phase). Stepped transformer speed control provides operational flexibility and energy savings through reduced consumption. Available in five standard sizes (315, 350, 400, 450 and 500mm), rated for airstream temperatures up to 60°C, with a 12-month warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a roof mounted extract fan and why choose one?

A roof mounted fan sits on top of the building and pulls air up through the duct system, discharging it vertically at roof level. It frees up plant space inside, keeps fan noise outside the occupied areas, and carries exhaust air up and away from the building. The Elta Clearflow CF is our roof-mounted centrifugal range, designed for external installation where internal space is limited.

Can the Clearflow CF be fitted to a pitched roof?

Yes — the Clearflow CF can be mounted at angles of up to 30° directly onto pitched roofs, so it isn’t limited to flat-roof installations. It’s available in five standard sizes — 315mm, 350mm, 400mm, 450mm and 500mm — delivering air volumes up to 2.66 m³/s and static pressures up to 618 Pa, with the vertical discharge directing exhaust upwards and away from the building.

Does the roof fan come with bird and weather protection?

A bird guard and a wind guard are both fitted as standard on the Clearflow CF, so nothing extra is needed to protect the impeller from birds or gusting wind. Components are easily removable for maintenance, and the casing is pre-galvanised sheet steel with a high-performance composite backward curved impeller for durability in permanent external exposure.

Is the Clearflow CF available in single-phase, and can it be speed controlled?

Yes on both counts. The fan uses a four-pole AC external rotor motor available in single or three-phase, and stepped transformer speed control provides operational flexibility and energy savings through reduced consumption. It’s rated for airstream temperatures up to 60°C; for hotter or grease-laden kitchen extract at roof level, the high-temperature Clearflow CFHT is the appropriate model instead.

What performance data is available before I buy?

Each product page includes the model’s key figures in its Specifications tab, and the Downloads tab carries the manufacturer’s full technical data sheet plus installation and maintenance instructions — including airflow curves, electrical data, sound levels and dimensions for all five sizes.
