Flat Channel Plastic Ducting

Flat channel plastic ducting (also called low-profile or rectangular plastic ducting) squeezes ventilation into spaces round duct cannot reach — above kitchen wall units, inside ceiling voids, under floors and through shallow bulkheads. The slimline rectangular profile keeps the duct hidden while still moving the air your extractor fan or cooker hood needs.

We stock the system in three standard sizes: 110mm × 54mm, 204mm × 60mm and 220mm × 90mm, with duct supplied in 2m lengths. The 110×54 size suits bathroom and utility extract; 204×60 and 220×90 give the extra capacity kitchen extraction and cooker hoods demand.

Everything for a Complete Run

Flat ducting — rigid 2m lengths in all three sizes

Bends — horizontal and vertical 45° and 90°, including adjustable options

Tee pieces — branch a run to serve two points

Couplers — join lengths end to end

Mounting clips — fix the duct to walls and joists

Shutters — stop backdraughts when the fan is off

Wall plates — neat terminations at the wall

Planning a Flat Channel Run

Flat duct trades height for width, so plan the route before you buy: use horizontal bends to turn across the wide face and vertical bends to turn through the narrow face, keep the run as short as practical, and seal every push-fit joint for full extract performance. Because the section is slimmer than the equivalent round duct, avoid unnecessary bends — each one adds resistance the fan has to overcome.

Most fans and cooker hoods have a round spigot, so start the run with a flat-to-round transformer and switch back to round plastic ducting wherever space allows.
