Fire/Smoke Dampers

Fire & smoke dampers (FSDs) combine two jobs in one unit: they maintain fire compartmentation like a standard fire damper, and they close at the first trace of smoke on a signal from the fire alarm system. Every damper in this range is driven by a spring-return electric actuator — available in 24V or 230V — which closes the damper automatically on an alarm signal, on loss of power, or when the integral 72°C thermal fuse operates. That failsafe, motorised operation makes FSDs the right choice for protecting escape routes and areas with sleeping risk, in line with Approved Document B.

Rectangular Fire & Smoke Dampers — Made to Measure

Our rectangular fire & smoke dampers are made to order to your exact width × height, with instant online pricing on every product page. They are CE marked to BS EN 15650, fire tested to BS EN 1366-2 and classified to BS EN 13501-3, achieving an ES classification — E120 (ve i↔o) S in walls and E120 (ho i↔o) S in concrete floors. Case leakage is Class C and blade leakage Class 2 to BS EN 1751. Construction is a fully welded 1.2mm case in galvanised or 430-grade stainless steel, with a choice of Angle Frame (AF) or HEVAC frame, double-skinned airfoil blades and an enclosed out-of-airstream drive linkage. Optional support cleats are available.

Circular Fire & Smoke Dampers — 100mm to 300mm

For spiral and circular ductwork we offer a motorised single-blade circular FSD in six diameters: 100, 150, 160, 200, 250 and 300mm. The single-blade design gives greater free area than comparable multi-blade dampers. It is ES classified, tested to BS EN 1366-2 with classification to BS EN 13501-3 (E120/E90/E60 depending on the supporting construction), and its replaceable 72°C thermal fuse carries a green power LED and a push-button test switch for easy periodic testing. An integral installation plate allows fixing from one side with no fire-rated infill. AF and HEVAC frame versions are available in galvanised or stainless steel, each with a 24V or 230V spring-return actuator.
