PU Flex

PU flexible ducting — anti-static, lightweight polyurethane flex for dust and material extraction, available in 7 diameters from 80mm to 315mm. Polyurethane is the material of choice for extraction hose: tough against abrasion from passing dust and chippings, yet light and flexible enough to handle daily movement around machinery.

Why anti-static matters in extraction

Dust moving at speed through a hose generates static electricity. An anti-static duct dissipates that charge rather than letting it build — reducing dust clinging inside the bore, nuisance shocks at the machine, and the ignition risks that come with charged fine dust. That makes the anti-static lightweight PU flexible ducting range the right connection between woodworking machines, extraction drops and mobile collectors.

Sizes stocked — 80, 100, 125, 150, 200, 250 and 315mm — line up with common machine outlets and with our Nordfab QuickFit extraction ducting, which offers hose adaptors in matching diameters.

Using PU flex in an extraction system

Treat PU flex as the last link, not the system: rigid duct carries the air across the building, and the hose makes the final metre onto the machine, flexing as guards open and machines shift on their mounts. Keep each flexible section as short as practical — hose adds more resistance per metre than rigid duct — secure both ends with hose clips, and size the bore to the machine outlet to hold transport velocity. The lightweight construction makes re-routing between machines a one-person job when the workshop layout changes. Stocked sizes despatch next day when ordered by 3pm, with free UK mainland delivery on orders over £400 ex VAT.
