High-Temp Silicone Flex
High-temperature silicone flexible ducting for hot air handling — double-ply construction, supplied in 4m lengths and 13 diameters from a compact 38mm up to 300mm. When the air is too hot for standard foil or PVC flex, silicone flex is the answer, keeping its flexibility and integrity at temperatures that would degrade general-purpose ducting.
Built for hot air
The double-ply high temp silicone flex uses two plies for strength and durability in service, supplied in practical 4m lengths that cut to size on site. Typical applications include hot air extraction from machinery and process equipment, heater and dryer connections, engine and generator ventilation, and any duty where heat rules out conventional foil or PVC flexible duct. The unusually wide size run — starting at 38mm, then 51, 63, 80, 100, 125, 150, 160, 180, 200, 224, 250 and 300mm — covers small equipment tails as well as full-size duct connections.
Specifying high-temperature flex
Match the bore to the outlet it serves rather than necking down — hot air expands, and an undersized duct raises both velocity and surface temperature. Keep runs short and supported, route them clear of anything heat-sensitive, and clamp connections securely: see our hose clips for the sizes here. Where only part of a system runs hot, it is common to use silicone flex for the hot section and standard flexible or rigid duct beyond it once temperatures fall. Stocked sizes ordered by 3pm are despatched for next-day delivery, with free UK mainland delivery on orders over £400 ex VAT.
