Round Plastic Ducting

Round plastic ducting is the neat, lightweight way to duct domestic and light commercial ventilation — extractor fans, cooker hoods, tumble dryers, in-line fans and heat recovery systems. The rigid plastic (PVC) duct is smooth-bored for low resistance, easy to cut with ordinary hand tools, and simply push-fits together with the matching fittings, so a tidy installation needs no specialist kit.

The system comes in three standard diameters — 100mm, 125mm and 150mm — matching the spigot sizes of most domestic fans and cooker hoods, with duct supplied in 2m lengths.

A Complete Push-Fit System

Round ducting — rigid 2m lengths, 100–200mm

Bends — 45° and 90°, for changing direction

Tee pieces — for branching a run

Reducers — step between diameters

Couplers — join duct lengths and fittings

Ducting clips — support the run to walls and ceilings

Back draught shutters — stop cold air blowing back in

Wall plates — a clean finish where duct meets the wall

Choosing the Right Diameter

As a rule, match the duct to the spigot size of your fan or hood and never reduce it — 100mm suits most bathroom and toilet extractor fans, 125mm and 150mm are the common choices for kitchen extract and cooker hoods, and 200mm gives extra capacity for high-output hoods and longer runs. A larger, smoother duct means the fan works less hard, moves more air and makes less noise. Keep runs as short and straight as you can, and prefer 45° bends over 90° where the route allows.
