Description

The Classic SAX is a window- or wall-mounted axial fan available in two sizes, engineered for straightforward installation in residential applications. Manufactured from shockproof, heat-resistant white plastic, it features sealed self-lubricating bearings, double insulation and built-in thermal overload protection. Each fan is supplied with a telescopic wall liner and a 5-metre 4-core cable, and includes an automatic shutter for weather resistance and corrosion-resistant construction.

Select models add a 5-speed reversible controller, giving the flexibility to raise or lower performance when system duties differ from target. The SAX23/9 moves 0.23 m³/s of air at 49 dBA, while the larger SAX30/12 delivers 0.53 m³/s at 51 dBA, so both suit residential ventilation with minimal noise. The fan operates at ambient temperatures up to 40°C.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which extractor fan do I need for a bathroom or kitchen?

For intermittent extract — the fan runs when you use the room — the Elta LUXE covers most homes. It comes in 100mm, 125mm and 150mm sizes for wall, ceiling or window mounting, with an adjustable run-on timer of 1 to 25 minutes on every model and an optional humidity sensor for automatic operation. An integral back-draught shutter prevents heat loss when the fan is off, and the smallest model draws under 8 watts.

What is positive input ventilation (PIV) and does it stop condensation?

A PIV unit sits in the loft and gently pushes fresh, filtered air into the home, displacing stale, humid air and helping to prevent condensation and mould. We offer the Elta PIV ONE, with washable double filtration and an EC motor that boosts automatically when humidity is detected, and the SANO Intelligent PIV, which adds twin G4 filters and a multicore heater that tempers incoming air to an adjustable 10–20°C.

What's the difference between MEV, dMEV and MVHR?

MEV (the Elta MOXA) is a central unit continuously extracting stale air from several wet rooms at once. dMEV (the DEXA dMEV) does the same job with individual continuously running fans in each room. MVHR (the HAVA) goes further, supplying and extracting balanced airflow while a heat exchanger recovers warmth from outgoing air — the HAVA suits one to two bedroom dwellings, hotel rooms and student accommodation.

Can I get heat recovery for a single room without ducting the whole house?

Yes — the Elta DEXA HR is a single-room heat recovery unit that fits through the wall in Ø100mm and Ø150mm sizes. It alternates between supply and extract every 70 seconds, storing heat from outgoing air in a ceramic exchanger and returning it with the incoming fresh air. It runs very quietly, tackles condensation, and optional humidity and PIR sensors can boost the speed automatically.

Do you sell a simple window or wall mounted fan?

Yes — the Elta Classic SAX is a window or wall mounted axial fan available in 9 inch and 12 inch sizes, moving 0.23 and 0.53 m³/s respectively. It’s made from shockproof, heat-resistant plastic with an automatic shutter, double insulation and thermal overload protection, and is supplied with a telescopic wall liner and 5-metre cable. Reversible-controller variants offer five speeds for supply or extract.

How quickly can residential fans be delivered?

Most of the residential range — LUXE, DEXA, MOXA, PIV ONE, SANO and HAVA — is available on a short lead time of a few days, shown on each product page before you order. Delivery is free on orders over £400 excluding VAT. Every unit’s technical datasheet and installation guide are on its Downloads tab if you want to check duties, sound levels or dimensions first.
