45 Degree Y-Piece

45 degree Y-pieces for galvanised spiral ducting, available in 19 diameters from 100mm up to 710mm. The Y-piece splits a duct run into two legs at 45 degrees, giving the smoothest airflow of any branch fitting — which is why it is the standard junction in dust extraction, fume extraction and any high-velocity system where suction is money.

Why extraction systems use Y-pieces

In a dust extraction network, every sharp corner slows the air and gives chippings somewhere to settle. A 45 degree Y keeps both legs sweeping in the direction of flow, maintaining transport velocity and reducing the chance of blockages. In comfort ventilation the same geometry pays off as lower noise and less fan energy on hard-working branches.
