45 Degree Bend

45 degree bends for galvanised spiral ducting — the most versatile angle in the fitting range, available in 24 diameters from 80mm to 1000mm, with every size up to 500mm stocked except 280mm, which is made to order along with the larger sizes. Installers reach for the 45 more than any other bend: it forms offsets around beams and services, pairs up to create a low-resistance 90 degree turn, and connects branch lines into 45 degree T-pieces and Y-pieces at a matching angle.

The installer’s favourite angle

Two 45 degree bends with a short straight between them turn a duct through 90 degrees far more gently than a single elbow, cutting pressure loss and noise — a trick worth using on any run where the fan is working hard, from kitchen extract to woodworking dust extraction. A single 45 also handles the classic dogleg: up and over an obstacle and back on line.
