Weather Hat

Weather hats for spiral ducting, available in 18 diameters from 100mm to 630mm — 100, 125, 150, 160, 200, 250, 300 and 315mm stocked and other sizes made to order. The weather hat — sometimes called a roof hood or cone-top roof vent — is the traditional termination for a vertical duct through a roof: a conical cap standing above the duct opening, letting air discharge freely around the skirt while keeping rain out of the system.

A simple, proven roof terminal

Use a weather hat on general ventilation discharges and intakes where the aim is simply weather protection rather than high-velocity dispersal. It suits extract stacks from toilets, plant rooms and general commercial ventilation, and works as an intake terminal too. For kitchen and fume extract, where regulations usually call for the discharge to be thrown upwards, specify a jet cowl instead.

Sizes available: 100, 125, 150, 160, 180, 200, 224, 250, 280, 300, 315, 355, 400, 450, 500, 560, 600 and 630mm — matching our 3m spiral duct lengths. Weatherproof the roof penetration itself with a Master Flash flashing. Stocked sizes ship next day when ordered by 3pm.
