Description
This rectangular fire and smoke damper is a combined fire and smoke control device for HVAC ductwork, designed to maintain compartmentation and protect means of escape in the event of fire. Driven by a spring-return electric actuator, the damper responds to a smoke alarm signal for closure at the first trace of smoke and incorporates a thermal fuse as a failsafe backup. The actuator closes the damper automatically on loss of power, or when the thermal fuse reaches its operating temperature of 72°C.
The damper is CE marked complying with the requirements of BS EN 15650, fire tested to BS EN 1366-2 and classified to BS EN 13501-3. It achieves an ES classification with reduced smoke leakage characteristics, making it suitable for the protection of escape routes and areas with sleeping risk, and is compliant with Approved Document B. Tested and certified installation methods cover masonry/blockwork walls, dry partition walls and concrete floors, achieving a classification of E120 (ve i↔o) S in vertical constructions and E120 (ho i↔o) S in concrete floors.
Construction is a fully welded 1.2mm case available in galvanised steel or 430-grade (1.4016) ferritic stainless steel, with a choice of Angle Frame (AF) or HEVAC Frame (HF) installation method. The opposed-blade action uses double-skinned airfoil blades on 19mm diameter spindles, with the blade drive linkage fully enclosed and outside the airstream for protection and increased free area. A spring-return actuator is fitted as standard in your choice of 24V or 230V, and optional support cleats are available. Each damper is made to order to your exact width and height requirements.
